A visit from a Hawk

Yesterday I looked out and saw a bird swoop down and land on the wall next to my bird cage – 5 finches live there.

I called for Megan to come and look and grabbed my camera. It was a HAWK !

And I found a picture of it on this site – Click Here

and this info – note the “BIRD EATING HAWKS”

“As their scientific name indicates, Cooper’s Hawks–Accipiter cooperii–are classified as accipiters. And, as Laura Jay and Hattie Griffin discovered from all those feather piles, accipiters are the so-called “bird-eating hawks.” The genus also includes the smaller, more common Sharp-shinned Hawk,”

It’s not every day that we’re visited by a Hawk.

A story from my day 🙂 …..
