These cookies will knock your socks off! I started making these cookies over 25 years ago. I hadn’t made them in some time, but started writing a blog post for one of my clients, Marrying Later in Life. That blog post is titled – “My Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe … the way to a Man’s Heart?” Can these cookies win your way to a man’s heart? I think so! My husband loves them and every time his father would come visit, his hand was in the cookie jar grabbing a few of these cookies!
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
3/4 cup Butter Flavor Crisco
1 1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
2 Tbsps. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened Hershey’s Cocoa
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cut large pecan pieces (optional)
Heat oven to 375 degrees
Combine Crisco, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl.
Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until creamy.
Beat egg into creamed mixture.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda and mix into creamed mixture until just blended.
Stir in chocolate chips and pecan pieces.
Drop rounded spoonfuls (about 2 tablespoons) 3 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes for chewy cookies or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies.
Cool and Eat!
Makes 3 dozen 3-inch cookies.
